No, Kamala Harris Hasn't Changed Her Mind

One of the many things about politicians I've grown to despise is their shameless willingness to flip-flop on quite literally any issue if it gets them one step closer to gaining power or clinging onto power.
And the electorate, which seems to treat critical thinking like a sin rather than a virtue, rewards politicians who pretend to change, while simultaneously ignoring other politicians who have always held those views and have been hamstrung by their pesky insistence on saying what they actually believe.
Throughout Joe Biden's career — the man who we must constantly remind ourselves is still president of the United States — he mastered the ability to shape-shift as needed. It didn't matter whether the policy was related to abortion, gay marriage or COVID-19. Biden's sincere view was whatever was needed that moment, regardless of what he believed one moment beforehand.
Then there's Kamala Harris, Biden's not-so-democratic replacement who has been chosen as the second coming of Barack Obama to ensure that Americans can move on ... from the damage the Biden/Harris administration caused.
And why is Harris worse than other politicians who pivot with the political wind? She's not even pivoting!
In recent months, if you've listened to the legacy media outlets who actively joined the Harris campaign to elect her in November, you'd think that she's denounced all of her past positions that might spark concern among non-communist Americans. But here's the truth: She hasn't said anything! In reality, an army of anonymous aides (also tasked with the goal of electing her as president) are the ones filling the void with ... whatever voters want to hear.
For example, Chris Cillizza said that "Kamala Harris has changed positions on a WHOLE lot of things," providing a list of supposedly changed policy areas, including electric car mandates, gun buyback schemes and the banning of plastic straws.
But if you follow the trail of propaganda breadcrumbs and get your hands on an actual primary source, the truth becomes obvious.
In 2020, Harris said that plastic straws should be banned. That's no longer her position, "her campaign says."
In 2020, Harris endorsed mandatory buy-back programs for so-called "assault weapons." That's no longer her position, "her campaign says."
In 2020, Harris spoke out in favor of decriminalizing illegal border crossings. That's no longer her position, "a campaign official" said.
Her campaign sure says a lot!
Even in the rarest of occasions when Kamala Harris has found herself in front of a journalist who isn't trying to give her a warm hug while being flanked by her chaperone, Tim Walz, she won't even flip-flop.
Take fracking as the obvious example. In 2020, Harris proudly wanted to ban fracking. In 2024? "No, and I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020, that I would not ban fracking. As vice president, I did not ban fracking. As president, I will not ban fracking."
All while saying that her "values" have not changed ...
And that's the only true thing Kamala Harris has ever said and will ever say. Because Kamala Harris has not changed. She was a radical as a district attorney, as an attorney general and as a U.S. senator.
Her new position on fracking wasn't even her new position; it was Joe Biden's!
