On Thursday, the Biden administration declared that the monkeypox outbreak is a national health emergency, following the World Health Organization’s declaration of a global health emergency last month.

“We’re prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus,” Xavier Becerra, Biden’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, said, adding that “we urge every American to take monkeypox seriously, and to take responsibility to help us tackle this virus.”

Now, this might all be reminding you of the national and international response to COVID-19, and is likely partly fueled by the political discovery that the leverage of a “crisis” or an “emergency” is a great cheat-code in the halls of power.

But there is a problem for the increasingly radical Leftist establishment: monkeypox isn’t impacting everyone equally.
