Tim Walz — the radical Leftist Governor of Minnesota selected to be Kamala Harris’s running mate — has a few campaign strategies up his sleeve.
One is to call everything “weird.” Another is to lie about quite literally everything (fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, his wife getting IVF, whether his name is actually “Tim”).
And then there’s the line of attack that just…pisses me off: the fact that Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, went to Yale.
“Now I grew up in Butte, Nebraska, a town of 400 people. I had 24 kids in my high school class and none of 'em went to Yale,” Tim Walz said at the DNC.
And it’s obvious that Tim Walz is just obsessed with the fact that J.D. Vance went to Yale.
“Like all regular people I grew up with in the heartland, J.D. studied at Yale,” he said at a rally.
“None of my Hillbilly cousins went to Yale,” he told MSNBC.
This from a teacher, by the way.
Now, first off, there’s the ridiculous hypocrisy of it all. If it’s such a crime that J.D. Vance went to Yale, Tim Walz should have to explain to me why he didn’t speak out against the following Democrat politicians who spoke at the DNC:
Barack Obama (Columbia & Harvard)
Michelle Obama (Princeton & Harvard)
Pete Buttigieg (Harvard & Oxford)
Bill Clinton (Oxford & Yale)
Hillary Clinton (Wellesley & Yale)
Chuck Schumer (Harvard)
Amy Klobuchar (Yale)
Cory Booker (Stanford, Oxford & Yale)
Jaime Harrison (Yale)
Chris Coons (Yale)
Jared Polis (Princeton)
Gina Raimondo (Harvard, Oxford & Yale)
Jamie Raskin (Harvard)
Chris Murphy (Oxford)
Andy Kim (Oxford)
Wes Moore (Oxford)
Maura Healey (Harvard)
Amy Klobuchar is a Senator from Minnesota! As Governor of Minnesota, does Tim Walz have a problem working with her?!
No, because this is nothing but the sort of elitist crap that defines the Democratic Party.
J.D. Vance is quite literally the American dream. He grew up dirt poor in a trailer in an abusive environment, and was raised by his grandparents and by a single mother who was addicted to drugs. After graduating Middletown High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was deployed to Iraq. Using the G.I. Bill, Vance studied at Ohio State University, and then attended Yale Law School.
So what’s the problem?
Well, J.D. Vance’s crime isn’t success. It’s success while poor and white and conservative.
